The Experience
A Day's Sailing Along the Dorset Coast
You'll join us at Port of Poole Marina and slip out through one of the world's largest natural harbours, past Brownsea Island and out through the harbour entrance at Sandbanks.
From there the coast opens up. We round Old Harry Rocks, cut the engine and get the sails up, then follow the Purbeck cliffs south towards Swanage and Durlston Head. Along the way there's time to anchor in Studland Bay for a swim, a long lunch on deck, or an afternoon of simply watching the coastline go by.
Nothing about the day is fixed. Your skipper shapes the route around the wind, the tide and what you feel like doing — a proper Dorset sail, a lazy day at anchor, or a bit of both.

Where does a Jurassic Coast yacht charter depart from?
All our charters depart from Port of Poole Marina in Poole Harbour, Dorset — around 20 minutes from Bournemouth and easily reached from across the South Coast. Full joining and parking details are confirmed with your booking.
How much of the Jurassic Coast can we see in a day?
A full day charter of around seven hours typically takes in Poole Harbour, Old Harry Rocks, Studland Bay and the Purbeck coastline towards Swanage and Durlston Head. Conditions on the day decide how far west we push.
How much does a luxury yacht charter in Dorset cost?
Half day charters start from £750 excluding VAT and full day Jurassic Coast charters from £1,250 excluding VAT, for up to six guests.
Do we need any sailing experience?
None at all. Your skipper handles the yacht throughout. You are welcome to take the helm and get involved with the sails, or simply relax on deck and enjoy the coastline.
What is the best time of year to sail the Jurassic Coast?
May to September offers the warmest water and longest days, with July and August busiest for swimming stops. Spring and early autumn bring quieter anchorages and often the best sailing breeze.
